Tarot of the Guiding Muse
Wake up. Work. Eat. Sleep. Tucked in between the routines of daily life, there are moments that weave a story together. As I was engrossed in my own quest to grind through the day, I realized that I was glancing over those seemingly small experiences. My own story was lost in the chaos.
For me, the Tarot is a reminder that our stories are to be celebrated. They provide a window into our past, our present, and our future. The Tarot of the Guiding Muse is designed to nudge us when we become blind to the small things. A push when life gets you down. A gentle hug when we’re feeling sad. An alarm clock when we need it.
The Tarot of the Guiding Muse is based on Rider-Waite tradition, although artistically it deviates from classic depictions. Inspired by the little things that make me happy, this 78-card deck tells a story of a traveler named Emi as she makes her way through the Fool’s Journey. She travels to fantastical places, plays with mystical beasts, and finds time to savor a cup of tea on a quiet night. Hand drawn with vibrant colors, the art in Tarot of the Guiding Muse is influenced by Japanese animation, Japanese woodblock prints, and the landscapes of Northern California.
