My story diverges into two paths

In 2017 I earned my PhD in neuroscience and dedicated my professional career towards understanding the neural underpinnings of obesity and addiction.

In 2022 I chose to pursue art and start a family in Humboldt County, California. Through a combination of burnout and a yearning for something more, I was driven to illustrate those small moments of joy that we often take for granted. To reinforce those moments, I embarked on an artistic challenge to illustrate all 78 cards of the tarot - with my wife as my muse.

Titled “Tarot of the Guiding Muse”, this deck tells the story of Emi as she makes her way through the Fool’s Journey. Inspired by Japanese art and hand drawn with vibrant colors, each card portrays a facet of her enchanted life. Through colorful landscapes and warm scenes, this deck invites you to draw cards and shine light on your own self reflection.
